We had a Kephas over to play last Saturday. Needless to say (as you can see from the pics and video), the boys had a blast π Kephas is about 1 1/2 years older than Colt, but they play well together. We had a pancake breakfast, went to the park, and even took a bath together before nap time since they were laying all over the dog π It was fun. . .
Beautiful Evening ~

Here are about a million pics from Tuesday. We are sooo loving this warm weather and sunshine! I decided to be adventurous and walk up to meet David after class with Colt AND Rosie (note: David had to train Rosie to walk on a leash after we got her last week. She would just lay down and not budge until that leash was completely out of site! Must have had some bad experience or something). Anyways, we just love her to pieces so we couldn’t possibly leave her out of this grand escapade. I put Colt in the stroller and Rosie walked right beside him the whole way!! She kept licking his feet and tickling him. So cute!
So, I took my camera with hopes of catching some evening sun. . . but we pretty much missed it. I guess it took us longer to get there than I had anticipated. Rosie had her toy and loved to play fetch with Colt (you’ll see him with her toy in several of these). I love that he can have it right in front of her face and she doesn’t do a thing to him. She’ll wait until he throws it (which his throw is about a foot away) and prance after it. She is the perfect kid friendly dog! Colt had his favorite toy – the ball, of course. And also a plum. . . which he managed to eat pretty much the whole thing, despite dropping it several times, losing it in the bushes, and offering some the dog. Lovely, I know.
Anyways, enjoy the pics. I had too many favorites to just post a few.
It was quite interesting trying to take decent pictures of a toddler and a dog while also trying to keep them contained in a semi close proximity. Can’t wait to add about 4 more kids and a few more dogs!! hahahaha. Juuuuuust kidding.
Pics for Daniel
Aahhh. . . fresh air!
Just some pics of enjoying this beautiful warm and sunny weather π
Colt was watching for Daddy and “Wosie” to come back from their little jog. . . maybe Colt can go next time Daddy?? He is pretty fast you know ~
Mastering the art of climbing on “ocking chairs.” They just make it so difficult because they move too!!
Colt started jumping off of the planter/retaining wall in our backyard. The scary thing was. . . he didn’t want me to catch him!! He was just jumping down (a good 1 1/2 to 2 feet) and rolling on down the hill in the dirt. He thought it was great. Wish I did too!
I believe Colt has developed a minor obsession with his “puppy doggie Wosie.” He likes to turn his high chair around and eat looking out the windows. . . talking to her the whole time! It’s quite amusing to hear him in there saying “hello doggie, stay Wosie, good geeal (girl).” He sure does love that sweet ole girl.
New Doggie
Live from Wake Forest
Well, obviously my blogging has been on the back burner the past few weeks. Which means there are plenty of pics and videos to choose from!
We caved and got a dog today. For those of you who know Colt, you probably picked up on his love for “doggies.” Any dog. David and Mike (a friend fromΒ chrchΒ went witnessing last weekend and met a family wanting to give away a sweet dog. You’ll meet Rosie (the dog) tomorrow, most likely.
Colt’s feeding himself 100% and really doesn’t spill much at all. He’s even good at rice with a spoon. The boy loves him some rice π Gets that from his Daddy I suppose. He also loves the youth at ourΒ chrch. Good thing they like him too because he’s the youngest in attendance. He’s still running and jumping all.the.time and putting 2 and 3 words together. David and I are most amused by him these days. This has got to be the best yet!
This is Colt’s “new smile.” He must be used to the camera, because now when I say “smile Colty” he really tries. The only problem is he may be trying TOO hard. . . looks like he’s straining π
He LOVES to have his picture taken and be on video. Mostly because he likes to see the replay. Very cute. Here are some pics of us goofing around. My little buddy ~

And of course, the classic PB&J. A combination of PureBoy&Joy:

Some Videos
Jumping Beans. . . only Mommy came out with a “boo boo” from those crazy slides (I got a rubber burn if that is possible!)
Oh dear. . . double trouble. Colt and his buddy Kephas “getting down with their bad selves” π
Colt came out with one of these shoes on, which I thought was pretty amazing since they aren’t slip ons or anything, but it must have been a one time fluke because he obviously wasn’t doing it twice. (Colt trying to put on his shoes) haha
Boys beings boys. . . Funny Daddy. . . Teeth brushing and pure cuteness!!
Videos courtesy on my wonderful hubby!
Well, we had a lovely Valentine weekend π David and I so enjoyed our getaway to the beach (even though it snowed while we were there which made the morning swim at bit chilly! juuuust kidding about the swimming part – ha).
We were at a couples’ retreat which was the best yet in my book! My wonderful in-laws put the whole thing together (who knows how they do it?), my even more wonderful hubby and some guys played some fabulous music for the conference, and the speaker was great too. Of course, the time away one-on-one with my Valentine was the best part!
Mom and Dad were such a huge blessing in coming down all the way from WV to keep Colt for us. He had a great time and we knew he was in good hands π All I can say is he and Gramps had their years quota of burgers and milkshakes!
Now we are back to normal, and loving that too. . . Colt is on a “boot” kick. He loves his rainboots and wants to wear them every time he sees them (Hence the pictures to follow of him working his puzzles in his boots).
He looks like he’s concentrating really hard on this piece! (or else he’s pooping?) He can work the animal puzzle without missing a beat. . . the numbers and letters need some more “play” time π
This is a pic I took of Colt after her got finished playing in the snow last weekend. He played in the back yard for a long time by himself while I was fixing dinner (I could see him through the back windows of course). Then he decided to bring some snow to the porch and eat it. Quite cute π
Jumping Beans
So, most of you know that we don’t have a TV or cable. . . but we have discovered Sid the Science Kid though PBS probably at my parents house while Sarah was there. Colt looooooves “Sid!” So, he got the Sid DVD for Christmas and since he’s watched it he thinks he is Sid. He jumps all over the place like Sid and even runs like Sid. It’s quite amusing.
Since he was using our couches and beds for his jumping playground we decided to try out this place called Jumping Beans that is just a mile or 2 away. It’s basically this huge indoor bounce around playground. Love it! Only $7 for all day fun – parents are free so we got our workout in there too π
Colt was really excited about the water outside of Jumping Beans . . . he kept saying “water in water in.”
A big indoor blow-up playground!! Every jumping child’s dream come true!
Blurry because of all that jumping. . . but classic of Daddy playing with his little buddy whose hair is flying in the wind π
David and Colt found some leaks of air to play with . . .
Colt thought it was fun to lay down and be bounced around. . .
Love these guys!!
Mmm Mmm Good!
Colt’s first hamburger and milkshake combo (minus the french fries). I can’t believe some parents let their children eat this stuff!! (haha)
I think he liked it. . . surprising? Not really, but very cute. . .
Don’t know really where blog posting has been on my list of things to do. I suppose NOT THERE. We’ve been working. . . as well as working on the house – not going to pass up this opportunity to brag on my Baby. This guy I married, what a catch, he has painted this whole house, torn out carpet and tile, laid tile flooring and backsplash in the kitchen, done woodworking, and saved us thousands of dollars. You name it and he’s done it! He’s so amazing. (love you hun and I’m proud of you in case you didn’t know)
I’m working the next 2 days and then the GRANDparents are coming down to keep Colt while us lovebirdies go to a couples’ retreat at Myrtle Beach. We are excited and looking forward to our time away – though short it will be I’m sure it will be long enough for Colt to be spoiled rotten. Oh dear.
