My First Real Pajamas

I couldn’t resist the pictures after I saw how cute Colt looked in his pj’s last night. Aunt Debbie bought these for him and they are 3-6 months, but I washed them and tried them out. They are just a little bit big, so he can still grow 🙂 But they sure are cute! Thanks Aunt Debbie . . . we are coming down to visit you before too long!

Colt the Cowboy

The Salyers from David’s home chrch in South Carolina sent Colt some “personalized” outfits that are too adorable! They are actually 6-9 months, but David couldn’t resist putting them on the little man yesterday (even though he’s only 4 1/2 weeks). They really weren’t that big!

Colt’s First Bottle

Daddy fed Colt a bottle yesterday on his 4 week birthday. Colt did pretty well after the initial adjustment and some choking, but I wasn’t enjoying it so much. I have been pumping to establish a “supply” for when I start back at the hospital. It was just sad because I am not looking forward to being away from my baby boy that long – I suppose I feel like he needs “me” because I’m the one who has been with him all day every day since he was born. I will miss those special times while I am away, but I am thankful for the help and that he is doing well with this new change in his routine 🙂 Daddy did a great job!

These next two pictures are priceless because David was talking to Colt and we captured one of his precious smiles (he started smiling these last few days)!

Colt at 3 1/2 Weeks and Sarah at 3 1/2 Months

Colt was playing with Daddy the other night. They are big buds. He has some crazy hair!

Cute little backside 🙂
He’s just so cute from every side (but I suppose I am his mother) Our precious little boy ~
Nana Gail was babysitting Sarah yesterday. She is such a sweetheart. This is right after she woke up from her nap.
She was cracking me up playing. She was so content playing for hours during the day!

But she fell asleep. . .with her little doll in her arm 🙂

Our Weekend with Daddy!

Daddy usually has to work on Saturdays, but he was off for the whole weekend! Colt and I enjoyed him so much!! He’s a natural at being a papa and just amazes me with his way with our little boy. I’ve always known he was good with kids, but I guess I’ve never really seen him around babies. Colt just loves him (I can tell). Colt went with Daddy on Saturday to the Post Office, to get gas, and even to wash and wax the car! David also has a special gift of quieting the little guy down when he gets upset – it’s precious. Anyways, he was a big help to mommy, and I was able to get some rest and do some studying this weekend.

David put these shoes on Colt (Aunt B and Uncle Dale got them for Colt on their trip out West), which were obviously way too big right now, plus they don’t really match his outfit 🙂 Colt didn’t know what to think about his feet!

Aunt B and Uncle Dale with the babies

Uncle Dale actually put Sarah to sleep. This is quite an accomplishment!

Yesterday was Colt’s first Sunday with Daddy too. Colt went at 1 week old, but Daddy was out of town. Then we were all in Ohio at 2 weeks old because David and I sang at a wedding. So, yesterday Colt was 3 weeks old and here he is with his proud papa!

He did good in chrch. He woke up about 15 minutes before it was over because he dirtied his diaper and then got the hiccups! He wasn’t too loud though 🙂
Here are great-grandparents Papaw Tom and Mamaw Helen. They came up to see the little man after chrch was over.

He was tuckered out after chrch

Well, Mr. Little Man woke up with a tummy ache this morning around his 6 o’clock feeding. He likes to be on his tummy, and we can tell that it helps. I can’t figure out what in the world could be giving him gas since I’ve been watching my diet for that purpose. We’ll just keep trying! He’s precious though. . . and check out how long his hair is (the second picture) in the back – sorry it wasn’t combed yet this morning.
This is cute little happy girl! She came out on Wednesday to “play” except Colt doesn’t really notice her like she notices him. She’s just so happy all the time – too cute.

What to play with next? . . . She already read the book several times and mastered the rings game – She’s just so advanced 😉
Yesterday Colt and I left the house around 3:30 to go see his daddy at work. Then, Daddy went with us to Mamaw and Papaw Curry’s to visit and we ended up being able to eat a yummy yummy dinner there too! After that we went to Mamaw and Papaw Stevens and didn’t make it home until about 9:00 pm. Well, Colt fell into a deep sleep with Mamaw Helen and this is what he looked like when we got home:
There was no waking this guy –

Colt at 2 1/2 weeks!

We went to Colt’s 2 week appointment yesterday. He pretty much hated being naked and poked around. . . but the doctor was quite impressed with the little man. He is now 10 pounds 10 ounces and 22 1/4″ long. David and I could tell he was getting heavier and longer, but I would have guessed somewhere in the 9 pound range. I was shocked! The doctor said to keep doing whatever we’re doing because he’s exactly what they want to see. . . He’s on a 3 hour schedule and (obviously) still eats well 🙂 He sleeps about 4-5 hours at night which has been nice. We can’t complain! He’s just a huge blessing and miracle from the Lord! Colt being “cool” with his daddy 🙂

Bright eyes 🙂

He’s following bright colors and faces
Some cute faces from early morning:

The love of my life, our baby boy, and I came home from Beckley yesterday. We had been gone for several days, and I think Colt was missed because he had lots of visitors yesterday evening! Unfortunately, I had to take a 3 hour test online so I didn’t get to see anyone 🙁 It was a little hard to concentrate too, knowing all those people were here and also hearing the little man every once in awhile. Praise the Lord – he did good and I passed (and finished before the next appointed feeding time)! Colt and Sarah. Sarah is at such a fun age (3 months)! She is so alert and always giggling and smiling at someone 🙂 She’s a doll! In the next few pics she discovered her new cousin:

Mamaw Betty took care of Colt for about an hour in the afternoon because I was exhausted and needed a quick nap!

There were several kids running around here last night too. They had a good time playing outside, but they stopped for an icecream break 🙂
Aunt Jane and Chloe with the baby boy –
Colt and Sarah with their great-grandparents! They are out!
In case you are wondering where all the pics of Colt and his daddy are from last night, David was helping Dad unload some cows and set up a make shift pen for the night. Unfortunately, this is the only picture we have of the cows:

They broke out last night. . . pray they come home!!

These are a few of the long awaited pictures from Colt’s time with Grandpa and Grandma Miles (plus cousin Cort). The rest are on our video camera and David will have to work his magic with uploading those. I have no idea. . . Anyways, Mama T caught some pretty cute ones here: Colt was being snuggled by his cousin Cort. Cort did great with the baby and he’s going to have a little brother of his own soon! He’ll be a fabulous big brother! (Colt liked him obviously)
The whole gang. . . I hope you can tell they loved on the baby lots and lots! We all had a great visit and they were a huge help allowing me to get some rest in between feeding times. Thanks so much!
This was when everyone was leaving. David was leaving for Lewisburg. He had to work at the fair and I was going to miss him terribly!! Then there is Grandpa Donnie who was going to miss Colt terribly too (and vice versa of course) 🙂

Thanks for the pics Mama T! We love you and miss you both ~

A Week Never Went So Fast!

Today Colt is 8 days old! I can’t believe a week has already flown by. . . As I was writing the title, it reminded me of one post I had made during the end of my pregnancy – except it was titled “A week never went so slow” I think 🙂

I had some help getting around with the carrier from my mom and dad. David is working in Lewisburg. . . he hates being away and calls us all of the time! We are going to go visit him this evening until Wednesday (so no more posts until after we get back).
Colt is becoming more and more alert. We caught some good pictures – this is the first time he’s had his eyes open for you all to see 🙂 He is exploring the world and bright colors all around him. He’s pretty cute! This first picture cracks me up! It’s the classic face he makes when he’s trying to pass gas 🙂
This next picture looks like he’s posing 🙂

This was when we were getting ready to leave for chrch. He did great! He ate at 9 this morning and I went ahead and changed him and put him in his seat to sleep. He didn’t wake up until we got home after 12:00. He was hungry though!
Little smile – he smiles and grunts in his sleep all of the time. I’m going to have to film his funny movements and faces while he is sleeping one day soon.
Cute little chrch outfit – from Uncle Clenton and Aunt Gail 🙂 He looked handsome!
