More pics from the weekend

The babies were “playing” together. It was funny to see Sarah watching Colt in the car on Sunday night from her carseat. Of course, he didn’t see her because he was looking out the window, but I don’t think she took her eyes off of him the whole way! Colt and Daddy laughing together. . . what they do most of their lives these days 🙂
My precious little baby always brings a smile to my face!
Uncle Dale had Sarah asleep again. . . She always covers her face when she eats and sleeps. I don’t really know what Colt was doing here 🙂
Handsome and sweet little boy. . . His hair is getting lighter and he has his Daddy’s blue eyes!

8 Weeks Old!

Sorry it’s been awhile. . . our internet has been terribly slow, so I chose not to spend my time on it! We’ve had a pretty laid back week though. I only had to work on Wednesday so Colt and I have been having a ball together! I absolutely love to stay home with him!!

He’s on a great schedule and has mastered the “falling asleep on his own” task. We really wanted him to be able to do this, but I also loved to rock him and knew that those days and times are numbered. We have the best of both worlds though because we still love on him and cuddle him (just not to sleep), but he goes to sleep on his own. It’s almost funny, sometimes when he’s fussy with gas or something I actually TRY to rock him to sleep to soothe him, but he cries until I lay him down. Then he goes right to sleep! It makes me laugh 🙂

Here are some pictures from today though. He was 8 weeks old yesterday. He woke up a little early today, so he was slightly off schedule. He was pretty sleepy by the time we got to chrch so I laid him down in the pew and he slept for awhile, but I think it was too bright and noisy. He woke up, but he sat there like a good boy until the service was over. I’m sure he was a distraction though because he kept smiling at people 🙂 He’s such a content and happy little fella! I know we are blessed.

The first picture is me when I was 3 months old. I thought Colt looked more like his daddy’s baby pictures when he was first born, but I see some definite similarities in these pictures too!

The Cows are back!

These are 2 of Colt’s favorite places to be! The pictures with Mommy were taken in the rocker in the family room, the sweet pictures with Daddy are taken in the swing on the back porch. He likes to sit outside and listen to the birds and other sounds, but he also likes to be on the move!

This is the whole gang that came to celebrate Dad being a half a century old! haha. . . just teasing Dad 🙂 This is both sides of the family – though we are actually missing several who couldn’t make it because they live out of state.

Do you remember a little over a month ago when I posted a picture of the cattle trailor pulling in with Dad’s 2 black angus steers? Well, then I told you that there would be no pictures of the cows because they both broke out before daylight the next morning. . . there has been a lot of praying in this house and from people at chrch that we would be able to recover Dad’s losses 🙂 The neighbors would call when there was a “cow spotting.” Both cows had been spotted within a 5 mile radius which was amazing! So, the men set up a barrel of grain in the back of the open cattle trailor and miraculously shut the cows in while they were eating. This is a picture of George. Morse (short for Remorse – named ever so affectionately by my Dad) is still too wild to let out of the trailor into the field. Dad was going to name them “T” and “Bone,” but he didn’t want to make them even more mad 🙂 Anyways, this was a miracle and we give the Lord the credit!

Cousins

Colt was 6 weeks old on Saturday! These pictures were taken yesterday. . .keep in mind that Sarah is 4 months old. We think we have a healthy little fella 🙂 Maybe that’s why he’s wearing his 3 month clothes already? Sorry, Colt isn’t smiling in the pictures. He’s in deep thought apparently. In chrch yesterday, the lady in front of us was holding him and he was getting a little fussy so she put him over her shoulder. Once he spotted his daddy and made eye contact he was just all smiles. It is so sweet to see him becoming more and more alert and recognizing familiar objects and people (especially when it’s you and he smiles at you).

This is Sarah in her little exersaucer! She is all smiles and giggles. She is lots of fun to be around 🙂
Check out those legs! Chubs 🙂 Too cute!!

Smiles and Cute Colt Faces!

Colt has been smiling so much today! I’m trying to figure out what I might have eaten so I can eat it all the time 🙂 His smiles are contagious and we can’t get enough of them!
This next picture was when he was talking to me and telling me a big “oooh ooo. .” story!

This was our handsome little man after Daddy got him all ready for chrch this morning. This is probably the first and last time for this outfit if he keeps growing at this rate!

Our little boy is growing up!

Well, I started back at the hospital on September 3, when Colt was 4 weeks old. It was really hard! Not only because I missed my little man and wasn’t sure how he would do without me (I miss my big man always of course, but he’s was at work too), but also because I was tired from long nights now followed by a long day at the hospital. I thank the Lord that I have good help who I can trust Colt to completely. He’s been able to stay with Nana Gail and Aunt B during the week and Daddy on Saturdays.

These pics are from Aunt B’s house. Looks like he was doing just fine without me!

Thanks heaven for little boys, and we do thank the Lord for him daily!! He truly is a miracle as we watch him grow – you can almost see him growing! Actually, I went to my 6 week checkup yesterday and they weighed him in at 13 pounds!

Colt has been smiling a lot more and has started “talking” to us more too. It’s so cute and so much fun!
Apparently he likes Aunt B’s big teddy bear! They probably had a big conversation 🙂

I just wish I could stay home with him everyday! We have lots of fun together. Colt went with me to wash our car today. He was a big help of course 😉

One Month Check-Up

Colt had his one month check-up today, even though he was 5 weeks old on Saturday. He cried from the moment we arrived until after it was all over. It’s almost like he knew we were at the doctor’s office and he was going to get a shot. The funny thing was that he stopped crying after the shot. . . David went with me, and he told the nurse (jokingly of course) that we were going to have to bring him for more shots when we needed him to stop crying at home 🙂

He weighed in at 12 pounds 12 ounces and 23 inches! Just to refresh your memory, he was 8 pounds 10 ounces, ad 21 1/4 inches just 5 weeks ago! The doctor said he was in the 90-95% for his age. He was proud of how well he was doing!

Here are some pics of today!
