Miles Family Christmas

The 2009 Miles Family Christmas thus far:

David with vomit and “you know what” (the other end) on Saturday night and Sunday
Haley with vomit and “you know what” on Monday night and Tuesday
Colt with vomit (and just vomit thank the good Lord!!) on Tuesday night
Wednesday the family arrives and we are all feeling MUCH better 🙂
Only to go home tonight and work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (hey, somebody has to share the Christmas Joy with the people in the hospital – remember them as you are home with your loved ones)

Ah. . . precious memories this Christmas. Thank you Lord:

For the gift of your Precious, One and Only Son
For grace and forgiveness
For mercy and healing that meets us wherever we are
For my wonderful husband and his godly leadership
For our little man and his sweet temperament (not saying he’s perfect)
For a godly heritage on both sides who extend all their love and support

Merry Christmas. . . will post more “family” pics of the whole Miles family after the days activities 🙂

"Family" Pics?

So much for the “family” picture. I had forgotten how to use the self-timer on my camera because it’s been so long since I’d used it. Of course, we weren’t at home so I didn’t have my manual with me (note to self, don’t leave home without it)!

(Don’t worry, David and I are sooo in love, right hun? 🙂 We just didn’t get our pic together). But I’ve been trying to do Christmas pics for about a month now. Thought we’d better do it or else it will be after Christmas!

(Yes, he is loving on and kissing the snowman)

Early Christmas

Well, it’s getting pretty close to Christmas and we were playing outside without jackets today. Good to know that Christmas isn’t about snow or presents!!

We’ve been reading over the Christmas Story at night with Colt. He pretty much won’t go to bed without “the Word.” I’m sure it’s just because he wants to read a book and that’s the one we read at night with him. Or, it could be because he loves the “baby” Jesus and “horse” (aka donkey) in the story. He always turns right to it! (it’s a picture Book. . . not like he actually turns to Luke chapter 2 or anything).

Here are some pics of Colt’s outdoor fun today. He sure does love the slide and balls. Thanks Gramps and Nana! – love, Colt

Looking in the windows for “DADDY??”

Hair Do’s (and Don’ts)

I personally think that EVERY woman IN THE WORLD should be able to get their hair “done” once in their life (and I mean REALLY done. . . not just the $12 special at the local Clip-N-Snip). It is such a treat that I don’t think men could EVER understand.

I suppose I had let my hair and its condition sort of go to pot for the last 16 months (hmm. . . I wonder what significant factor in my life changed 16 months ago??). Nevertheless, MOMS, you are supposed to keep yourself looking good for the hubby right? Well, my hubby is sweet enough to tell me I’m beautiful even if my hair was a frizz ball. . . and also sweet enough to indulge my one dream/desire of a “salon makeover.”

I went to this fabulous little salon here in our quaint town of Wake Forest and told the stylist (appointed by divine intervention I’m sure) to “do whatever!” Notice anything different? (if not, just look back a few posts)

I feel much better.

Decorating with Memories

I was going through a box of picture frames when I realized that I have too many to decorate our home without it looking cluttered. I’m not one for clutter. I like it to stay simple – always easier to clean too (especially when it comes to dusting!).

That’s when this idea came to mind. I had seen it in my Better Homes and Gardens magazines before and really liked it. I guess I just didn’t know at that time that I already had a bunch of different frames to make this eclectic look . . so I decided to make it happen while David was gone last night. He liked the idea too 🙂

House Pics – Dining Room

Our first COMPLETELY FINISHED room! That just means decorating is finished too. . . finally 🙂 The dining room is right off the kitchen and living room with the windows facing the back yard/screened in porch. This is where Colt sees his “wing” (swing) atleast 3-5 times a day while he sits in his highchair.

We didn’t have to do too much to this room. We kept the light fixture (the only one we kept in the whole house actually) and painted the walls and trim. I’m pleased with how it turned out, and of course thankful for my hubby’s work and the gift it is from above!

A sneak peak at the living room. . . more pics to come

"Play" Date

We are having a good visit down here in SC with my wonderful in-laws for the Thanksgiving week! Colt is REALLY having a blast though with all of the attention from Grandma and Grandpa, and today Hayden came over to play for a few hours.

The boys are just 2 months apart and are so cute together! Colt would run around yelling for “Hawen” and they would hug or fight over the balls. . . you know how boys are? 🙂 But they both agreed to play the piano together.
