Colt Rocking Out

Youtube “At Your Name” by Phil Wickman for the full song – it’s one of my personal favs. . . which has obviously also rubbed off on my 3 yr. old son!

Here is what he is singing in this part of the video (Though he knows the whole song! That is so neat to hear coming from such a little guy by the way) –

LORD OF ALL THE EARTH,
WE SHOUT YOUR NAME, SHOUT YOUR NAME.
FILLING UP THE SKIES
WITH ENDLESS PRAISE, ENDLESS PRAISE.
YAHWEH, YAHWEH, WE LOVE TO SHOUT YOUR NAME, OH LORD!

And now, without further adieu πŸ™‚

Colt’s New Green Bike

I feel like I’m so behind in my blogging. . . I don’t want to forget these things!! Hopefully I will get caught up soon. I’ve been working. . . and spring cleaning! Whoo hooo!

Well, Colt obviously got a bigger bike (thank you Nana Gail!). He picked it out himself. I thought for sure he would go for the Lightning McQueen or Spider Man bikes. . .but he chose this green Hotwheels bike! And the right handle acts like a throttle with a little RPM gauge. It’s pretty cool, and it’s definitely his favorite part! So, now we spend most days at the park in our neighborhood riding bikes with his bff Jack πŸ™‚

Happy Birthday Mama T!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful mother-in-law today! She truly is wonderful! I’m so thankful for my husband that she (and Daddy D of course) raised – he’s a tribute in and of himself!! But I’m also thankful for my relationship with her. She has always been accepting and loving towards me. She offers advice when asked, but has never been pushy or judgmental in the choices we have made with our family.

She is so helpful, kind, funny, easy to talk to and get along with, great cook, great friend, such a servant’s heart, and just such a joyful person!! No wonder I love her, huh?
Mama T, I’m so thankful for you. We love you dearly and appreciate your love, encouragement, thoughtfulness, prayers, support, keeping the kids, etc. . . all you do!

(Mama T made this cookie cake for Colt’s 3rd bday by the way – pretty tasty, and Colt was ready for another one when he saw this picture!)`

Binegars

When Hope asked me to take some pics for Baby David’s 1st bday, I was more than delighted!! He is an April Fools Day baby – April 1st – and just as sweet as sugar. It wasn’t hard AT ALL to get good pics of these kids. The good news is that Hope and Mike are dear dear friends of ours. They have always been available to help with our kids whenever, they help out atΒ chrchΒ in countless ways, and they truly have beautiful servant’s hearts. Both of them. I can’t imagine anyone ever having anything less than wonderful to say about them.

The bad news is that they are moving to Alabama this friday. I think I’m going to cry. We are definitely going to miss them!! A HUGE gap will be left behind. I’m so thankful for them and excited about how they will serve the Lord wherever they go! Love you guys ~

A Birthday at Sweeties Candy Shop

Colt’s friend Peyton, or “Peyton Berger” as he calls her by her full name more often than not, had her 4th birthday party at the CUTEST little candy shop here in downtown Wake Forest. I took my camera in anticipation that the setting would be great. . . and it was!
Colt’s initial reaction as he takes it all in. . .

I thought it was a great idea to have a chair beside Peyton so each child could take turns bringing their gift to her and sit there while she opened it.
Colt and Jack found some antlers to play with. Colt wanted me to pretend I was “hunting” them. David would have been proud πŸ™‚
The party was cupcake themed – and each child got to decorate their own cupcake. Colt decorated his, but being the ANTI-CAVITY-TEETH-BRUSHING-FANATIC that he is. . . would NOT eat the cupcake, or drink the juice. . . or even any candy that was offered. He just politely refused and requested some water. Yes, water.
This piece of candy reminded me of my hubs πŸ™‚ hehe
Peyton and Miley – they are in Colt’s preschool class.
The birthday girl getting ready to blow out the candle!

The boys played with cars. . .
And this is what Colt got with his $2 (that was supposed to be for any candy he wanted, but he doesn’t eat candy remember) – a glow wand! He talked Jack into one as well.
Scary eh?

Random Shots

David was brushing Colt’s teeth (which Colt asks to do about 15 times a day – not exaggerating here). . . and I was just in love with these kiddos and the natural light. Had to grab a shot or two – no editing here!

Oh, and it was 88 degrees today. Yes, it’s March 23rd.

Papaw Tom

January 16, 1933 – March 16, 2012 (79 yrs. old).

It would have been 3 weeks ago this Sunday that Papaw went into the hospital because he wasn’t feeling well. That’s when we found out that his body was under attack from the end stages of cancer that was in his lungs and liver. So, it was fast – but we are thankful that he didn’t really suffer.
I’m so proud of my Mom and her siblings who stayed with him around the clock over these last 3 weeks. I know they will miss him terribly. My Mom’s words this morning after Papaw passed, “The last day he was talking to us – he was so sweet and all smiles. It’s really a blessing.”
I loved him dearly. He had a contagious laugh, loved to smile, loved to sing, and loved the Lord. So thankful for his godly life. He will be missed by so many!

Eggs

I know my title is just sooo captivating and alluring to all of you dedicated readers πŸ™‚ ha! We are just enjoying this 70 degree weather and had to go to the park today. I think these eggs are so pretty, plus Kylie likes to play/eat them.

Colt was too busy riding his bike down the hills to be in a picture. He also insisted on wearing sweat pants and a long-sleeved shirt. I gave him the famous line, “mommy knows best,” and that it was shorts and t-shirt weather – but decided I would let him learn that as well. So, he got hot . . . – and I definitely should have gotten a picture of this – he had his sweat pants rolled up pretty much to his underwear. It was hilarious if I do say so myself.
