January 16, 1933 – March 16, 2012 (79 yrs. old).
It would have been 3 weeks ago this Sunday that Papaw went into the hospital because he wasn’t feeling well. That’s when we found out that his body was under attack from the end stages of cancer that was in his lungs and liver. So, it was fast – but we are thankful that he didn’t really suffer.
I’m so proud of my Mom and her siblings who stayed with him around the clock over these last 3 weeks. I know they will miss him terribly. My Mom’s words this morning after Papaw passed, “The last day he was talking to us – he was so sweet and all smiles. It’s really a blessing.”
I loved him dearly. He had a contagious laugh, loved to smile, loved to sing, and loved the Lord. So thankful for his godly life. He will be missed by so many!
Oh, Haley, I’m so sorry. You wrote such sweet words about him. He’s suffering no more. May the comfort of the Lord surround you all. Love you!

You have been blessed with such a wonderful way to pay tribute to your loved ones. Your Papaw Tom did have a contagious smile and Cheryl would talk about the sing alongs he would have Bev plan. Grandpa and I have been praying for you, Haley, ever since Trudy told us of his death a couple of days ago. We know you were happy to have visited with him recently with your children..those will be “memories” that will last in your heart forever.
