PB&J

Our little Peanut loves peanut butter and jelly! So, yeah I know, some say don’t give them peanut butter this early, but my ‘Super Baby Foods’ book (that I’ve been using to make all the “age appropriate” baby foods for Colt since 6 months) said it would be totally good for them! Plus, we definitely don’t have any PB allergies in this family. Heath and I LOVED them growing up! (I still do actually). David loves his too – before we got married he ate more peanut butter than anyone I had ever met in my life. He put it on apples, carrots, in his oatmeal, plain. . . you know . . . with everything basically.

That’s how it all started. Little Beggar Boy here comes up to Mommy eating her PB&J one afternoon and asked for a bite in his usual way – “AAGH and bite bite” – We are working on “bite please” 😉 haha.

Anyways, I fixed him a piece of bread with thinned peanut butter with a touch of whole fruit jam and he says “mmm mmm” pretty much the whole time he’s eating lunch. He’s had it several time and no reaction. So, we have another PB lover. I gave him some milk to wash it down for the first time today. That was also amusing. He took one sip and thought about it, then guzzled the whole thing with lots of smiles in between. I’m sure Colt was thinking “Uncle Heath would be proud.”

You can always count on this kid to be carrying his ball or truck walking around. He’s listening to his Daddy play the guitar. Totally captivated!

David and I are still putting in the hours at our house. I think it’s pretty consistent that we stay there until 2 am each morning. So, that on top of my night shift hours this week – – we are both quite tired. It is looking really great in our room and Colt’s room though! We got all of the wall paper down yesterday too. So. . . it’s coming around and we are quite excited!!

What we have learned:
1. The quickest route to Lowe’s
2. DollarTree has a lot of good stuff
3. We are becoming professional painters
4. Those “magic erasers” really are magical
5. How to take off popcorn ceiling
6. Learning the lingo of the carpet world as we shop around
7. How to clean electrical outlets without getting shocked and make them look brand new
8. The power of GooGone
9. Why we don’t like wallpaper (it’s pretty, but not fun to take down)
10. How to enjoy this crazy time together

  1. Great post….although how in the world did you have time to write one….what with working night shift, managing an almost one year old, sleeping during the day, loving your hubby, and working at the new house??? My boys sure did marry some wonder women, that’s for sure! Sure do love you all!

  2. Thanks for sharing those first pictures of Colt eating his PB&J sandwich ~ from grandparents who still enjoy a PB&J every now and then :)

    Love to all,
    Randy & Gail
