Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Yesterday was the little man’s 1st birthday! It’s hard to remember where we were this time last year isn’t it? It’s also pretty crazy how time has flown by! We are really enjoying this little boy that the Lord has given to us for sure!

David and I remember when found out that I was pregnant. I cried. . . David was in shock. We had only been married 3 months you know! – hence, we came home from the hospital on our 1 year anniversary. Then, if you remember (because we’ll never forget) those next 6 months of pretty much vomiting 24/7. . . David was so patient and good to me through that difficult time. The last 3 months of pregnancy was great though and we were excited about our little arrival.

Colt came on August 2, 2008 at 11:37 pm. 8 pounds 11 ounces and 21 1/4 inches (a mother never forgets!). He was so precious and such a good eater and sleeper. Those first year milestones flew by and look where we are! It’s like having a little boy. . . not a baby. . . around now. He’s a little walker and talker, and such a blessing from above. We can’t wait to have a house full!! Don’t read into that though – – there are no plans for the near future (not our plans anyways).

We are having a great time here at the lake. Uncle Dale and Aunt B have joined us and have been spoiling us with some delicious meals! When we go on vacation, we usually go on vacation and eat cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and go out for dinner or cook the fish that the men catch while we’re here (so far we have 6 striper in the freezer). Well, Uncle Dale has changed all of that – which we all agree should become a new tradition – and fixed us salmon, monk fish, yellow fin tuna, and shrimp the first night. We had delicious mexican with homemade salsa and guacamole, and hot dogs and homemade chili and slaw yesterday for our meals after a huge breakfast! I really don’t think I need to eat the rest of the week, but he has already bought the steaks for tonight 😉

We’ve been enjoying the water, outdoors, and family along with the food though you know! It’s so good to see Jacob and Sarah. Sarah is quite the funniest little baby – her personality is one of a kind and hilarious!

The babies together keep us moving. They are good to entertain themselves and each other. They share lots of hugs :-) Sarah is trying to help Colt get his shoe back on here. . .

We are looking forward to some more fun in the sun and water today Lord willing!
