Mr. Big Stuff. . . oh yeah.

Notice anything different about our little man? Hint: I’m not talking about the big bruise above his right eye – that’s not “new.” Actually, that’s the norm around here. Once something heals, another appears! I’m used to it by now though.
On a different note. . . I’ll just share some of the happenings of the Miles family to possibly bring some amusement to your day/night – whenever you choose to read this:
– the granite countertops were installed this week! Love them lots and lots, but we couldn’t use our sink for a few days. We thought, “no problem!” What a perfect time to try out the dishwasher! We’ve never had a dishwasher before – just the DavidHaley brand you know. So, we had PLENTY of dishes piled in that thing, filled up the soap dispenser and turned her on. “What a quiet dishwasher!” We thought, but 2 hours later I was thinking “what a SLOW dishwasher.” After peeking in, I saw that no water had ever been used, but it was hot enough to give me a 3rd degree burn! It may have “steam cleaned” the things in there – minus the steam – or just baked them to a crisp. Oh well, I had hours of scrubbing and lots of dishes once the sink was in working order again. Good News: It looks pretty anyways. Bad News: Don’t have time or money to even TRY and fix it right now.
– Since I’ve been working and we had company coming, I needed to do some serious laundry – like a whole days worth. I really try not to let it get out of control because who seriously wants to do laundry ALL DAY. But, I had sheets to wash, beds to make, and clothes to clean. . . so I started with gusto only to find that the washer ALSO had some gusto! It started shaking like it was going to take off and launch. I was thinking this was the end. . . Good News: My hubby fixed it, somehow. He’s wonderful. Bad News: laundry never ends.
– All in the same day, David and I are moving in our furniture after 3 months of being packed up in the garage waiting for carpet installation. This is fabulous! All is well (despite other events of the day) until my (as before mentioned) wonderful hubby informs me that “I” had spilled a WHOLE gallon of paint in the garage floor (where all of our earthly possessions are stored right?). Oops. That was great fun to clean up – though I will give credit where credit is due, wonderful hubby did most of it. Good news: That section of the garage floor is really clean. Bad news: We have to buy another gallon of paint.
– So, the only thing to top it all off is that I got off of work early on Tuesday only to get home late! Indeed, I wrecked my wonderful hubby’s first and most beloved car. The ole Honda. He loved her (maybe more. . . so I had to get rid of her). Juuuust joking. Good news: No one was hurt. Bad news: We only have 1 car, and a gas guzzler at that.
Until next time. Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! (10/10)
