The events of week 35. . .

This is a picture of the cake we had at the shower. We thought it was cute that little Sarah came out later that day with the same outfit. She’s much cuter and sweeter though πŸ™‚ We happened to catch a picture of her in the same position:
This is me. . . 35 weeks! I think I’m going to pop any day. . . atleast, that is my prayer πŸ™‚ I’ve got everything washed up, organized, bags packed. . .and the carseat is ready! haha. Now we just have to wait for the baby I guess.

Aunt Jane and the girls, my cousins – Chloe and Malie, also helped with the shower. I know they will have fun with this new little cousin once he gets here! Funny, I remember when they just came into the world! They are sure growing up πŸ™‚
This is Billy, a sweet lady fromΒ chrchΒ that made a quilt for the little guy. She also made a blanket for Heath and I. . . which I carried until it was in shreds. Maybe he’ll be the same way?

Cheryl was a big help keeping track of the gifts. I was opening one from Mamaw Betty – diapers!! Yay! We did end up getting just about everything we needed. We now have a good stock of diapers and wipes. . . and let’s just say this baby will be styling with all his cute clothes! Thanks to everyone for your generosity and helping us get our family started ~
This was on Father’s day. We had a yummy steak dinner at Aunt B and Uncle Dale’s with the fam. It was David’s first Father’s day. . . he’ll be a great daddy!

My handsome hunk of a hubby :-)

Me and my handsome bumblebee. . . actually this was at the lake and David was the master water sportsman, but the water was a little chilly. Well, lots has happened in the last couple of weeks. My wonderful husband’s birthday was Thursday, June 12. I am so thankful for this godly man (and I know he’ll be a great father) that the Lord brought into my life. . . so many times I wonder why he puts up with me and how I wound up with someone so special. Not only is he a man of character who works hard. . .but he’s my best friend and so much fun to be around. Just can’t get enough of him! Here’s a pic on his bday – we went out to eat at Longhorn per his request. It’s not a good pic of me, but for him I shall post it. We also had a baby shower Saturday and Father’s Day Sunday. I have lots of pics from those, but they aren’t uploading very well so I’ll tell you more and try another day. By the way: We have 1 month left!

A Long Awaited Update!

Who knows what you may find on this post!! I’ll try to catch you up on the last month of our lives πŸ™‚ Especially for you Mama T and Daddy D because we do miss you all and wish we could see you more often! But we’ll see you next month for sure! Can’t wait πŸ™‚

Back to May 10 – David and I both graduated from ABC. My parents, grandparents, and Aunt B got to come up that Saturday, but Daddy D and Mama T came up on Thursday and we had a good visit. Grandma and Grandpa Haas came up and stayed Friday and Saturday. It was good to see everyone and meant a lot to have their love and support!

The next week was when we had our doctors appointment and ultrasound. . . I did post that.
The week of the 18th was crazy! David was working a lot of hours (thank you honey. . . you are so amazing!) and I was taking finals all day everyday I felt like. I also had clinicals to do (all of this was for nursing. . . I’m just thankful ABC was over and the Lord gave us strength πŸ™‚
Monday, May 26 we had a Memorial Day cookout and everyone got to meet Baby Sarah (who was just 15 days old). She was a trooper. . . as always. I just hope our baby is as good as she is!

We went to Smith Mountain Lake the next day for almost a week. It was so relaxing. . and nice not to have to study for once!! Heath, Kelly, Jacob, and Sarah came down too. David got lots of practice in when it came to diaper changes. . . I think he changed almost all of them during the day – we wanted to help him get ready πŸ™‚

Well, obviously, the men went fishing. . .we had a fish fry for dinner that night! It was mmm mmm good! We are back in the swing of things now though. I’m still in nursing school, so it’s homework for me! David still slaves away during the days – and those are HOTTT days here recently! I don’t know how he does it. We’ve had some good times washing cars together though. By the way, I’m looking to find a new friend . . . specification: pool owner πŸ™‚ I am getting a little warm for sure! We have another dr. appointment tomorrow. I’m 33 weeks! Yippee. . . so maybe I’ll have something to post about that. Maybe he’ll tell me I’m dilated and the baby is ready and healthy! Wishful thinking πŸ™‚ haha.

Niece Sarah Rose Marie

The grandparents were in last night with the grandbaby. We ordered take-out at Outback. We had a great time together. The purpose for the trip was primarily to bring us a trailer to load all of our stuff in; the secondary purpose was to eat. But we ate more than we did anything else so eating was probably the primary purpose for the visit.

Pics of the Baby!

We had an ultrasound yesterday and were able to see our little guy! Personally, we don’t think he looks like anyone we know, but if anyone has any suggestions?? Anyways, we are feeling good and in our 30th week. . . so the countdown could begin!

We also had a big weekend with graduation and have received lots of generous gifts from friends and family – which is a huge blessing and we are so thankful!! I’ll post some more pics of the weekend later!

Quick Pics of the Growing Belly

Well, it’s obvious (to us atleast) that my belly just continues to grow! It’s the craziest thing. . . of course the little guy still moves a lot, but as of today I felt him moving around so hard that I thought he was trying to get out πŸ™‚ That was a new phenomenon that was discovered as soon as I woke up this morning. He’s been pretty active all day too. Everytime he moves I think, “I wonder if anyone happened to see my stomach just lurch out?” But I suppose they would have to be looking at the precise second, so probably isn’t likely. It’s fun though, and David and I are constantly amazed by this whole miracle.

David took me out to lunch today because he’s wonderful. I’ve been craving veggies and mashed potatoes . . . maybe not so weird, but it is weird when that’s all you want. I pretty much had mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, and pinto beans for “brunch.” It sure did hit the spot! David was normal for his brunch and had strawberry pancakes with eggs and sausage (we went to Cracker Barrel if anyone is getting hungry).

Once we got back home, David just couldn’t resist taking a pic since he thinks this is a good “tummy day” and “tummy outfit.” He cracks me up. So. . . here we are, finally in our third trimester!! Yippee!

3 Months Left!!

Here are some long awaited pictures. I suppose I had good intentions when we started this blog to take pictures of my ever growing tummy. . . but so far I think this is the second one and this little guy will be here in 3 months! It’s hard to believe!! But then again, we can’t wait!

David and I have been joking (even though it’s true) that my tummy grew overnight this week. I know it’s only going to get bigger, but I can’t imagine. . . like today I was eating a chicken sandwich, and I dropped a pickle and caught it on my belly! That has just never happened before, and it was so funny to me! It’s been fun though because this little guy moves all the time! That’s definitely my favorite part. We are afraid he’s going to be a little squirmer though, but if you’ve ever watched his daddy, he doesn’t hold still much either – so why should this surprise us?
These next pics are of our pretty little tulips that David planted last year. Most of them look normal, except for the one that’s all sprawled out. Who knows why?? And if you are wondering about my pics with the vacuum above. . . well that’s what I wanted for my birthday!!

David brought me breakfast in bed this morning and played a sweet sweet song that he had written for me πŸ™‚ awww. . . . then all of the sudden he comes around the corner vacuuming our bedroom with our new Oreck! Yeah!! I couldn’t quit laughing. For some reason that was quite amusing to me. Maybe because I wasn’t expecting it AT ALL! It was great though, and, some of you may laugh at me for this, I couldn’t wait to get back from classes to vacuum! It was so fun, I think I may ask the neighbors if I can vacuum their houses too! haha. It’s great though and my hubby is a wonder who never ceases to amaze me with his love, sweetness, and thoughtfulness. I am so blessed!

So, here are pics of my precious new vacuum (ha) and some chocolate covered strawberries that Mom brought up. They are my fav! I think they could be better than birthday cake even!! But she took us to lunch and we had a good quick visit. Thanks Mom!

Master’s Pics

Mr. Rob, Dad and Myself paid a visit to our ol’ buddy Tiger a few weeks ago during his practice rounds at the Master’s. We had a great time. Mr. Rob and I drove the convertible beetle down Sunday afternoon (April 6 or 7) and it was such a nice day we let the top down some of the time. We picked dad up in Columbia then drove the hour drive to Augusta where we stayed in a hotel.
We woke up pretty early the next morning and were stuck in some traffic.
There were many golfers there. We were able to see quite a few of them. We left about 6:00 and dropped Dad off in Columbia then Rob and I started our long journey. It was a great time, and dad and I are extremely thankful to Mr. Rob for inviting us to come. This was one of those “once in a lifetime experiences.”

Trip Down South

This past weekend a surprise trip was in store for the Miles’. D.J. was getting married on short notice so the boys in the family decided to surprise everyone. Darin, Jody and Caily flew in and surprised mom and dad Miles Thursday night by placing little Caily on the front door step, ringing the door bell and hiding. They have it on video and you can see Daddy D just get the grandbaby inside, not worrying about who brought her. It was funny. They all had a good surprise there.

We drove down Thursday night after I finished with school and David got off work. We left about 7:30. We ran into some traffic so we didn’t get in until 1:30 am. Everyone was asleep so we just decided to join them. The next morning David called the house and asked what everyone was doing and told Mama T that we were in between classes and then we just walked around the corner and they saw us and were surprised also. We just kept on surprising people throughout the day. Grandma and Grandpa Miles came over and we surprised them too. Then later Friday we surprised D.J. All in all we had a really good weekend. Praise the Lord that all the vehicles ran well and we were all safe. Above are a few pics of the exciting weekend.
