Colt got some super hero costumes for his birthday. . . Kylie is enjoying playing dress up with his costumes as much as she is her own! They may be just a tad too big though 🙂

Here in the Quad
We are at training. . . heading into week 4! That is hard to believe. . . we are staying in a quad here where share a common area as a living room with 3 other “apartments.” The pictures below are in that common area. It’s actually been really good so far. The kids are loving having playmates available all the time! I am loving having delicious and healthy meals prepared for us 🙂 haha. We are able to receive instruction and refocus before we head overseas. Plus, we are loving spending lots of time together as a family!
Caden has been pulling up for at least a week now! He has 2 bottom teeth and the top 2 have just broken through as well. Craziness. . . The kid is 6 1/2 months old. “You can slow down anytime Caden.” He really is so content and happy 99% of the time. At his 6 month well check-up he was 18 1/2 pounds and nearly 26 inches. So he is growing growing growing!
We are thankful for our time here, for lasting friendships being made. . . our flight is being scheduled for October 1st – so that is less than 2 months now! Plenty to do to finish getting ready, that’s for sure!!

Colt’s 5th BIRTHDAYS!! (plural)
Whew! This little boy must be special and loved (and he SURE IS!) because we have been celebrating his 5th birthday since May – his actual birthday is August 2 by the way! I have never really been one for throwing big parties. Family and a few friends are enough for me, and that’s what we have always done with our kids. I want to make their birthdays extra special by spending quality time with those who love them most – people who show them just how loved and special they really are. . . not so much about “stuff.” That’s sooo hard to teach in our American society though. Really.
BUT, we have a lot going on this year for our little guy. He is turning 5 and has been going to his friends birthday parties all year. This is the FIRST year he has actually cared about having a “party with his friends.” We were moving from NC in May though – so his friends wouldn’t be close by on his actual birthday (August 2nd). So Mommy caved/melted for my big boy who is facing lots of changes/goodbyes/transitions. . and I “went all out” for a little gathering at our local park with some neighbors and friends from preschool. We had a Star Wars Angry Bird theme going on. . . since he is totally into that 🙂

Of course that was Colt’s MAY birthday, He had a JUNE birthday in South Carolina with the Miles and then a JULY birthday in West Virginia with the Currys. . .
AND yesterday we celebrated his AUGUST birthday with Mommy, Daddy, Kylie, Caden and his new friends here at training!! He had cupcakes in his class, and he got lots of fun new toys like superhero costumes from Nana and Gramps. It was a fun fun day!

Happy 6 Months Baby Cade!
Our littlest nugget is 6 months old today! So hard to believe!!!! He has been such a blessing and just the sweetest baby ever! David and I are always commenting on how we almost forget he is even around because he is so quiet/easy/contented. He does have plenty of “live entertainment” though with Colt and Kylie running around for him to watch 🙂 Weighing in at 18.5 pounds, he has 4 teeth, is sitting up on his own, rolling all over the place, getting up on all fours and scooting around! Now we put him in the floor and he ends up somewhere totally different! We just gave him his first cereal too – hoping that will help him sleep through the night. He was doing 7pm-7am only waking once, but the past few nights he been getting up several times which I’m attributing to that 6 month growth spurt. We have a lot of changes going on with our family right now – so we are trying to stay consistent, yet flexible. . . if that is possible 🙂 We love you sweet Baby Cade!

Hogans Horse Farm
We had a blast spending some time with this awesome family who has really blessed us through the years. Actually, I babysat their girls when I was in college and introduced them to David because they needed some help with the horses. This was all before David and I even THOUGHT about liking each other. Needless to say, the Hogans got to watch our love bloom – haha. David and I were talking about how much they meant to us recently, so we were excited to see them all! Our kids didn’t know what a treat they were in for!!
