January 16, 1933 – March 16, 2012 (79 yrs. old).
It was just 3 short weeks prior to his passing that Papaw Tom went into the hospital because he wasn’t feeling well. That’s when we found out that his body was under attack from the end stages of cancer that was in his lungs and liver. So, it was fast – but we are thankful that he didn’t really suffer.
I’m so proud of my Mom and her siblings who stayed with him around the clock over those last 3 weeks. I know they miss him terribly. My Mom’s words that morning after Papaw passed, “The last day he was talking to us – he was so sweet and all smiles. It’s really a blessing.”
I loved him dearly. He had a contagious laugh, loved to smile, loved to sing, and loved the Lord. So thankful for his godly life. He will be missed by so many!
Haley, Thanks so much for the post. Lots of sweet, sweet memories.
One day our Faith will become Sight too! If Dad were still here this morning, he would be calling me and telling me about his sister, Betty, having surgery today and asking me how you were, and if you were going to have the baby today! We’re blessed to have someone so special and that loved his family so much.
