Where to begin. . .

This post is going to be a bunch of pictures from earlier this week. I’ll be working the next three days. . . so I thought I should get something up here before “some of you” (you know who you are) come and hunt me down!

David and I (and poor little Colt – though he does like to push the cart and pretty much thinks the whole store is a huge playground) have been at Lowe’s far too many hours these past few days. If we got paid by the hour that we are “in Lowe’s” then we would have plenty of extra cash to finish some projects around here! :-) These are a few regular occurances of a Colt Day – running around the backyard. . .

A couple of trip-and-falls on the deck, followed by some “drumming” on the deck. . .

Watching “Dadda” and hollaring at him so he knows. . .

Getting into things he shouldn’t . . .
Showing off those pearly whites! (made of packaging material from the light fixtures we bought) I knew he was playing with that box, but I thought atleast I know where he is and he can’t hurt himself with that. Only to find him eating the packaging materials that were inside the box (originally – before he got to it)! Oh well, you can tell by the picture that he didn’t really like it. . .

On to another day in the life ———-

A beautiful “new” park just opened up down the road (the irony is that this “new” park was built on a huge farm that was hundreds of years old)! We had a little bday celebration for a friend with some delicious watermelon and games for young and old alike – though I spent most of exploring with Colt and interrupting the games as he tried to get the balls they were playing with).
Climbing the walls with Daddy
Love this picture! They are best buds and my best buds:-)
Well, it’s back to work tomorrow. With vacation last week, my work schedule has fell in a way that I have been off for 2 whole weeks!! It’s be quite lovely and for some reason the past 3 days with the little man have been better than ever! We have had such fun and he’s be such a delight – not that he isn’t usually, but he hasn’t been rotten more than a few moments of the past few days! haha.
He’s growing and changing so much. I think it’s been more fun because we are actually communicating in new ways. He’s repeating a lot (verbally and physically) which it usually quite amusing and brings joy to our day. The funniest is when he plays with a phone and jabbers into it. . . usually his “hello” comes out “yayo” or “yah.” It’s the little things they pick up that you don’t even TRY to teach them that is so funny/precious/scary!
Anyways, enjoy the pics and enjoy the rest of your week!

  1. Thanks so much for all the pictures and the newsy post. One day if you ever live far from your children and grandchildren, you will know (why in the world are there so many tears I can barely type??? Get a grip, Trudy~!) what a treat it is to read these blogs and updates…makes the pain of being separated a little more bearable. Thanks again…we love you all!

  2. Love the pictures ~ great that you have discovered an additional park near your home. We are thankful to have been able to have celebrated Colt’s first birthday with him and those days at the lake with the family….love to all!
