This child of mine. . . he turns up with something new everytime I look at him. It’s hard to tell where my cell phone is right now, but most of the time it’s in his toy box. He loves the phones and carries on the cutest little conversations (with good changes in his pitch too). He’s also good at carrying it between his ear and shoulder. It’s quite funny!
Yesterday he walks in my closet and comes out dressed like this –
He prefers to walk around with blankets and clothing covering his head. Don’t know why. . . The good news is that the blankets usually cushion his head when he runs into the doors and walls
Another thing interesting with this child. . . probably boys in general – It’s been so nice and cool around here that I just left the door open to the screened in porch and let Colt play outside while I was working in the kitchen today. Well, I happened to look outside when I didn’t here the balls bouncing and him making noise. Colt was standing up on one of our lawn chairs and getting ready to step off! Of course, I yelled “COLT!” and he stopped midstep and waited for me. I didn’t even know he could climb that high by himself!! Crazy kid. Can’t take my eyes off of him I suppose.
I tried to take him for a real walk today. . . you know, actually letting him walk instead of pushing him in the stroller or his little baby tricycle. That didn’t work. He was running full speed ahead down the sidewalk (I could just see a face plant and disfigured face coming). Then he would detour towards some house, yard, or toy. He’s not ready for the free range yet.
He does love “babies” though. All children about 5 and under get the “baby baby!” greeting followed by a pat on the head and “awe”/hug. He was hating the cart during our early morning run to Walmart until he spotted another little girl his age. He was so excited and talking up a storm “at” her! It was times like that that I think to myself. . . I wish I had two! (and no, we aren’t planning our next one yet)
At chrch tonight I took off Colt’s diaper while he was standing up because it was so full that he was sagging (such a bad mom. . .). Well, the kid pees in the floor almost immediately! I thought we had grown out of that stage, but I guess I was wrong. David wanted me work on potty training this week too.
Such darling pictures….and thanks so much for posting! I hope you have a good day today before you start your few days back at the grind. Give your guys a hug from us. Love you all!
