Our oldest is growing up. . . he’s 10 so that means about 8 more years under our roof. Through listening to podcasts and reading books on parenting (I recommend “The Connected Family” btw) we have been reminded to daily stay connected with our children’s hearts.
Since Colt is changing, growing, and having different thoughts and feelings, David decided this year would be the first “becoming a man trip.” They went to a beautiful place called Tiger Leaping Gorge. It was some intense hiking, but the views and time together were priceless. They also met up with some of our best friends there which was extra special and fun. After 5 days, they came home and Colt told us all about it. He talked with a light in his eyes for over 45 minutes. Obviously, he enjoyed it He seemed to have matured some too. They went through parts of a book and The Book together to add intention. Hopefully, this can continue to be an annual trip and we can stay connected to his heart as he grows up in this ever changing world. Caden can’t wait until he’s 10 Thankful for such a great husband and father too.
What precious memories were made! I know Colt will never forget it! Love you all so much!
You two are such amazing and wonderful parents.
Special time! 💕
What causes the mountain top to be black in the 4th picture down? Great adventure.
That’s the sun and shadows!
What a special trip for all of the men.. I know that when Kevin and Jeremy took their first trip out west to Glacier National Park, for their 10 day excursion, it also was a bonding moment for them both. I hope they continue to do this..
Wow!! What an adventure! Colt looks so grown up!!
