We made another trip to WV this week.
My aunt has been battling breast cancer for 8 years. Though the cancer claimed her physical life, she had the ultimate victory over death. 2 Corinthians 5:1 ” For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of the Father, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
She left behind a loving husband, Uncle Todd, and 2 precious daughters – Chloe (11) and Malie (9), who will one day meet her again! Praise Him!! I couldn’t help but think watching the slideshow in her memory that her little ones would have been around 1 and 3 years old when she received the devastating news of her illness. No one expected her to make it 8 more years. She was a fighter for sure.
David, Colt and I were able to see her the week before she passed which was a blessing. There was also an unbelievable amount of love and support (and food!) from family, friends, and the community at the visitation and funeral. Another great blessing! Because of their faith I know Uncle Todd and the girls will be okay. Of course it will be difficult. I can’t even imagine how difficult. Chloe stated it this way for Malie comprehend, “We are just burying the candy wrapper, not the sweet stuff inside.” Priceless.
Psalm 119:50 “My comfort in my suffering is this. Your promise preserves my life.”

Haley, what a wonderful tribute to your Aunt Jane. My heart has been so heavy for your whole family. It’s so wonderful to know that one day you will see her again. The video was just precious. I can’t imagine a life without a mom for those little girls, but I trust and know that God knows best and there will be many other “moms” to step in and nurture those precious girls. Love you all.
I am so sorry, Haley. We will pray for your family. I do feel for those little girls. There is comfort in knowing that you and your family will see her again!!
Haley, you out did yourself on this wonderful tribute to Jane Ann. It was so precious. I cannot get Chloe & Malie off my mind. I continue to pray for them daily. I cannot imagine what they are going through being so young. I was so impressed with Chloe. She seems to be a very mature 11 year old. Jane Ann was a wonderful mother and it reflects in her girls. Love ya.
