Hope you enjoy the pictures!!
Walking into the local wet market |
A great selection of seasonal fruits! |
Yummy vegetables – and pumpkins!! |
Some of the “wet” part of the market – fish, frogs, turtles, little things that look like eels? Yumm. . . |
LOTS of variety with the eggs. Colt said they have the little brown speckled ones (hard boiled) for snacks at his school and he likes them! |
Pig feet anyone? |
This is what happens when we stop for any length of time – automatically draw a group of locals around |
The food looks amazing. I want to try one of everything!
What’s the quality of the food? Like here, that would all be GMO and pesticide-ridden, as pretty as it looks.
Hey, I would mail you your quilt back but Sarah would KILL me. That is hers now! Can you find a durian there in the market? They smell amazing(ly bad)! They are called the “king of fruits,” I think. They’re big, spiny things and they taste (to us) like a mixture of gasoline, onions, dirt and nasty. But apparently very popular there. They also fall out of trees and kill people because they’re so heavy. These cropped up after the fall, obviously.
The food is good. . . I mean, we definitely wash, boil, or peel everything for obvious reasons. Yes we have that smelly fruit! I will try to take a pic for you Donna
Love the pics.
Looks like it’s quite an adventure to go to the market!
Love you all!
Love seeing what your day-to-day looks like now! The open market looks great. That was always a favorite of mine overseas. Glad to see you guys are doing well. Love you all.
