These are some sweet friends that I happened to make one day. I met Lulu (left) while she worked at the management office for our apartment complex. Since I could understand her pretty easily (some people have thick accents, speak super quickly/unclearly) I asked if she could do lunch sometime. She brought Echo (middle). . . and the tradition began of almost weekly food dates with me and my friend Jean (right). Those lunch dates turned into saturday night dinner and games, and they just love on the kiddos!
So, last week was Lulu’s bday and I wanted to surprise her with a cake! We had one specially made with “Happy Birthday Lolo” (they spelled her name wrong) and everything! – – and yes, I could’ve made one, but it probably would’ve been too sweet for their tastes, so we went with a local bakery – – When I pulled it off the top of the refrigerator to surprise her (I put it there so no little kid fingers would find it), I dropped it. Yep. It pretty much splattered next to her feet. I didn’t even get a picture before (which I will know to do next time!).
Oh well. Hopefully she knows we love her! I’ve been able to share my story with them, but so far their hearts are not inclined when we talk about the Father. But we are lifting them up and hoping they will one day be part of the Family!
Love getting updates. Praying for you daily. So proud of you. Love from the Browns
So sorry about the cake…yes, they will remember that the “splashed cake” had the love of your heart for Lulu!! Happy the children have found three “aunties” who love them…so sweet. Thankful to you all….for keeping us up on your daily lives while learning the language!! We miss you and love you….”choo choo great grandpa and his wife, great grandma”!!!
Making lots of memories….love those smiles and happy to see everyone enjoying the journey!!
Love to all,
Dad and Mom
