A night on the town. . .

We had some friends visiting and decided to take them to city center one evening to eat dinner and walk around. Our city is really beautiful at night with all of the lights. We bought some interesting street food too The kids ate fried scorpion and liked it! They were disappointed they only got 1 […]

Biking with kids. . .

Our friends are visiting, and they also have a 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son (same ages as Kylie and Caden). We all enjoyed the fall weather and a fun bike ride through a nearby village tourist spot! We rode about 9 miles on an amazing newly built bike trail that follows […]

My Walmart. . .

There is a market right across from our apartment complex that I have been going to for the last year. Recently I discovered this gigantic (and cheaper) market near the kids school bus stop though. Ever since, I have been going there. I like to compare it to Walmart because I can honestly get anything […]

Our beautiful city. . .

Remember I mentioned before “our mountain?” Well, technically it’s not OUR mountain (obviously). It’s just the mountain across from our house. . . we climb it frequently. These 2 pics are from the top. One is the view to the left and the other the view to the right.

Our Mountain

We call this “our mountain” because it’s right across from our house, and we have climbed it many many times (especially David and Colt). It’s fun to climb other mountains in the city and try to find “our mountain” from the view. . . Climbing has become a new hobby we are able to enjoy! […]

Chinese New Year is almost here!

The Chinese New Year is quickly approaching. The Chinese New Year is comparable to our Christmas. Everyone returns home to be with their family and eat lots of yummy food The differences include tons and tons of fireworks and firecrackers (day and night), and the holiday lasts for 2 weeks. . . lots of people […]

Around the town. . .

This is a really neat place to live. . . one second you are in the city, then you can turn down another road to the country pictured below. This city is full of diversity, huge gaps between the rich and poor, and so many people who have never heard. . .

Trying to Beat the Heat!

We went out with friends in search of a new water park we have seen advertised. We didn’t find it, but we found this place! It was free, and the clouds threatened rain (but never did) so there was no one there but us! Crazy The kids had a lot of fun on the slides, […]

Seven Star Park

There is a beautiful park near our apartment that cost about $10 to get into during the day. If you go after 6:30pm you can get in for free So we decided to check it out before paying the big bucks! It was huge, and really neat! It has a little zoo and climbing things […]
